Prayer

What is prayer?

According to Scripture, Prayer is a spiritual sacrifice that an individual offers to The Most High, you can find this information in

1 Peter 2:5

[5]Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Psalms 141:2

[2]Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

Isaiah 56:7

[7]Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

Hebrews 13:15-16

[15]By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

[16]But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Revelation 5:8

[8]And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

How to give praise?

By giving all credit to Tbe Most High who created / made the opportunity possible.

Giving back what you have to others to honor of him :

Leviticus 19:24

[24]But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy to praise the LORD withal.

You can praise The Most High by singing a song playing an instrument from your heart :

Judges 5:2

[2]Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.

How do I pray?

1. Identify who you are speaking to : Take notice to Matthew 6:9 which says “Our father who art in heaven”, some other individuals to take example from is Jacob who prayed in Genesis 32:9 and also 1 kings 18:36

Genesis 32:9

[9]And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the LORD which saidst unto me, Return unto thy country, and to thy kindred, and I will deal well with thee:

1 Kings 18:36

[36]And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.

2. Thanksgiving / Praise : This is about expressing the love you have for The Most High giving thanks for the many blessings he has bestowed on you thus far, some of those examples are The breath of life, the water you drink, the clothes on your back, the place you live in, the food on the table and the rain.

3. Asking : When asking for what we desire in prayer to The Most High, we must not ask for things of vain value such as cars, homes, clothes, phones, money, birthday gifts, new boobs / bigger boobs instead we should ask for more wisdom, spiritual understanding, the gift of prophecy and pray that others may be safe and healthy in their walk with The Most High on earth because The Most High already knows our needs, those vain things which we really just want will be fulfilled if our obedience to The Most High is shown.

4. Closing : Once these things are done, the ending of your prayer is simple, just acknowledge his power and his glory, blessing his name and honouring his name, as the Father of all creation then we say “SO BE IT”.

Prayer is able to save the sick.
