Acts 15:1-41 Explained

Acts

Acts 15:1-41
[1]And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
So men from judaea which is a place in jerusalem accoridng to were teaching the brethren that they needed to be circumcised to be saved using the law of cisicumcision in Genesis

[2]When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.
But when paul and Barnabas had a big disagreement and a debate with them and all agreed that they should visit  the elders and disciples at jerusalem about this matter.

[3]And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.
So on their way they passed phenice which is a place in the mediterranean  and samaria a place in israel stating the transformation of the gentiles which are Israel persons who dont keep the laws and they that heard it were happy at the news.

[4]And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.
And so they got to Jerusalem and they met with the elders and disciples and told them of all the things they encountered.

[5]But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.
But the Pharisees which are Jews who state that circumcision  is needed for  salvation  so that they would be keeping the law.

[6]And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.
The disciples and elders come togerther to disscus the matter.

[7]And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
After much deleberation peter addressed the men adding a valid point by stating they know that TMH  made a choice that the Israelites that were not keeping the law should recieve  the gospel.

[8]And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
And TMH bare them witness by giving  them the holy ghost just as he did to us in acts 2:1-

[9]And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
So there is o difference between the Jews  and the gentiles which would make them clean by faith.

[10]Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
So why do you entice TMH to put a restriction on the neck of his diciples or persons who follow TMHs law which we cannot bare.

[11]But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
But they believe that through the remission of sins of the Messiah they shall be saved just as we are.

[12]Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.
Then they were all silent  for  paul and barnabus to speak of the miracles and signs TMH  has worked on the Israelites who do not keep the law.

[13]And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:
Then james spoke  for the audience to listen.

[14]Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.
Simeon made it clear that TMH visited the gentiles to choose out of them a people for himself.

[15]And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,
And they all agreeed for it is written in

[16]After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:
A prophet uoted TMH saying  he will return and build the  temple of david

[17]That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.

[18]Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.
What is known to TMH  are definately all his works form the start.

[19]Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
Therefore my stance is that we do not trouble them of the gentile which which are turned to TMH.

[20]But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
But that we tell  them to keep the commandments.

[21]For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
For moses had put men in every city to teach TMH plus on every sabbath.

[22]Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren:
Then the word were  pleasing to the elders and disciples then they all agreed to send men to a place called Antioch.

[23]And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia:
So they wrote letters to the gentiles at Antioch, Syria and Cilcia.

[24]Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:
Forasmuch as we  have heard that  other frome our congregation have troubled you stating that you  must be circumcised in order to  be saved and  to keep the law we did not give  them  that commandment.

[25]It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
It is good for us to have one mindset  and to send Barnabus and Paul.

[26]Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Two men  that  have risked their lives for the name of the TMH.

[27]We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.
And they will also send Judas and Silas as witnesses  to say the same thing verbatum.

[28]For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
For it seemed good for us and the holy ghost not to put more pressure  on you  than the commandments.

[29]That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
Which is to stay away  from meats used in idolatry and from eating blood from things or animals strangled by animals from sexual immorality for if you keep yourselves pure you will do well.

[30]So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:
So when they were finished  they came to Antioch  the called a meeting of the multitude  and read the letters  in their hearing.

[31]Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.
And when the multitude heard it they were all happy for the confirmation.

[32]And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.
Judas and Silas also encouraged them with words of confirmation and reasurance.

[33]And after they had tarried there a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles.
And they stayed there for a time  then they left in peace.

[34]Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still.
But silas wanted to stay there longer.

[35]Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.
Paul and Barnabus continued in Antioch teaching  the word with others.

[36]And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.
And time had passed so Paul and Barnabus suggested that they vistited some of them who was preached to, to see how they are fearing.

[37]And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.
So Barnabas asked that John accompany him.

[38]But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.
But Paul did not want John to come because he departed from them while in Pamphylia so Paul did not go with them.

[39]And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;
And the heated disagreement was so sever hat they departed from each other and Barnabas took John and went to the city cyprus.

[40]And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.
Then Paul chose Silas and left to a place suggested by the brethren.

[41]And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.
And he went through Syria and Cilicia confirming the faith of the various churches.
